Fundraising Board - Volunteer

The Grand River Conservation Foundation (GRCF) was founded in 1965 as a not-for-profit and charitable organization that channels donations from individuals, foundations, community groups and businesses to Grand River Conservation Authority projects.

More than $16 million has been raised to educate kids about the outdoors, restore vital wetlands that cleanse our water, provide habitat that promotes wildlife diversity and offer opportunities for people to simply enjoy their natural world.

The Grand River and its tributaries support about one million people. In the coming years, that population is predicted to increase dramatically. As we contemplate this growth, we must also consider the best way to maintain the balance between human prosperity and the health of our natural systems for the long-term sustainability of our people, wildlife, lands and most of all, our water.

The GRCF is actively seeking three enthusiastic, dynamic individuals who have an interest in raising funds for environmental projects and who possess knowledge and experience in at least one of the following areas to join our Board:

• Finance/small business: Knowledge of financial reporting and accounting principles; an accounting designation is not required.

• Donor relations: Experience with actions to acquire, retain, and engage with donors.

• Fundraising: Experience fundraising for growing charities, foundations or public service organizations

• Communications/Public Relations: Experience with increasing awareness around not-for-profits and/or charitable organizations.
