Event Manager (Maturnity Leave)

 

Job description

The Events Manager will be responsible with the execution and planning of events and programs.

 

The incumbent is charged with the responsibility of coordinating all of the logistics associated with hosting a Cambridge Chamber of Commerce event. The Event Manager is responsible for ensuring all event venues are ready to receive participants in an atmosphere that is conducive to hosting a successful program. This position is responsible for determining the needs of each event with respect to room size, set-up, catering, equipment etc. In conjunction with the VP Marketing, Events and Member Enrichment, establishes revenue and expense estimates in preparation of individual budgets for each event. In addition, once services have been identified, the position will negotiate with the appropriate vendors for the supply and delivery of any merchandise or services required for an event. The Event Manager is to attend all events for the purpose of participant registration, troubleshooting and ensuring that the needs of any speaker, instructor, sponsors and participants are addressed.

 

Specific Responsibilities:

•Responsible for all virtual and in-person events
•Responds to event enquires via email, phone and in person
•Address complaints from participants, vendors, sponsors and speakers/instructors
•Multitask a number of event preparations that overlap
•Secure auction items for multiple events
•Responsible for securing speakers for all events, seminars, educational sessions programs
•Inspect venue locations for suitability and secure
•Preparation of event venues re decorating, seating, sponsor areas audio/video equipment etc. are in place
•Ensure events are listed on web site with all pertinent information
•Ensure web registration is up and running
•Welcome participants and ensure their preregistration
•Prepare event agendas and tickets when necessary
•Achieve budgets goals
•Sets up Membee (CRM) accounts for each event
•Acquire event signage foe certain events
•Set up backdrops, signage, and promotional materials
•Produce and distribute financial event statements

 

Requirements

•Dependable individual
•Must be Must have excellent interpersonal skills both in person and by phone with a high level of professionalism.
•Must provide excellent customer service.
•Oral and Written Communication Skills
•Must have a vehicle and a valid driver’s license
•Work well independently
•Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
•Attention to detail and quality
•Ability to work in a constantly changing, faced-paced environment
•Solid organization and planning skills
•Post secondary education in hospitality, public relations or business communications would be an asset
•Several years experience in event planning [3]

 

Expected start date: 2021-10-04

Contract length: 12-18 months

Benefits included

Salary: $43,000.00-$50,000.00 per year

Marketing Co-ordinator

 

Job description

This entry-level Marketing Coordinator position is dedicated to assisting in promoting the Chamber mission, brand, and activities. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the VP, Marketing & Evets to execute Chamber Marketing and Communication strategies.

•Assist with the development and implementation of a marketing and communications strategy for the Cambridge Chamber of Commerce
•Maintain the Cambridge Chamber of Commerce website preparing and uploading content, updating digital platforms
•Assist with all marketing on Social Media Platforms
•Assist with day of event functions, including photography, video, and co-ordination of all visual presentations
•Video recording and editing
•Co-ordinate mailing program
•Assisting with the Chamber managed virtual webinars
•Develop stakeholder database and identify strategies for engagement
•Other project management and administrative support as required
•Assist with Chamber programs and events as requested
•Monitor online systems for member requests (website, social media).
•Weekly communication with membership
•Regularly attend Chamber meetings and other meetings as requested.
•Seek opportunities to develop new partnership and increase the Chamber’s presence.
•Assisting with e-commerce for marketing initiatives
•Other duties or projects as assigned.

 

Skills Required:

•Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
•Ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously, and work to deadline
•Strong understanding of Google Analytics
•Graphic Design experience (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
•Strong computer and technical skills (Microsoft Office including PowerPoint)
•High attention to detail and accuracy
•Flexibility and adaptability
•Ability to work well on a team and relate to others across multiple business functions
•Possession of a valid driver’s license
•Dependable

Salary: $35,000.00-$40,000.00 per year
