Chair's Message

“You don't make progress by standing on the sidelines, whimpering and complaining. You make progress by implementing ideas.” ~Shirley Chisholm

As you are aware, you have been visiting the Ontario's largest Chamber of Commerce website.  Our most recent technological advancements such as online business directory, online Spectrum Newsletters, Chamber on the Street interviews and Chamber Web TV are just some of the amazing technological advancements made in 2009 by our organization.

As Chair, it is a great honour to represent our talented staff and our dedicated Board of Directors made up of our community’s best and brightest business people in pursuit of a shared vision of greatness. Please take advantage of the opportunities membership presents. Call upon fellow members and enjoy community prosperity.

The Chamber membership must know that the Board and Chamber staff are busy working to make a lot of ideas, special events and initiatives take shape and come to fruition.  One of those goals is to increase our membership by attracting enthusiastic newcomers while keeping our current members engaged. It is imperative that those who join receive full value for their membership. This is, however, a two-way street. People join for various reasons and that is a choice. It is the member who carries the ball that little bit farther, with some selfless energy and commitment, who get the most back.

We have some exciting times coming, there will be lots of work ahead of us and I endeavour to do my best, along with the Board, to represent you in business and prosperity. I look forward to working with you.

Sincerely,

Cory McRae, C.A.

President & CEO's Message

The Cambridge Chamber of Commerce Business Directory isone of your most useful business tools available. We hope you find it informative and an easy-to-use guide to all the successful businesses who are our Members of the Cambridge Chamber of Commerce. Speaking of Members, yes, we grew again, we are now just over 1800. You will find the resources through this directory and through our events and programs to grow your business too.

Our primary objective continues to be local economic stimulus, and we are working hard every day to provide the resources, tools and connections that will help you grow and prosper. Prosperity is our foundation to success as a Community. We are working hard with our local government, regional government, Provincial and Federal governments as well to ensure their legislation, policies and practices encourage a positive economic climate where business can flourish. We continually convey the message of creating a vibrant business environment in Cambridge on your behalf.

As you know, Tourism has an important role in the day-to-day operations of the Cambridge Chamber of Commerce. Aside from running the Region’s premier Visitor Services organization, the Chamber also operates Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada’s visitor centre and their plant tour program. The Toyota Tour Program already brings new tourist dollars annually to the Cambridge economy. We not only believe in local economic stimulus, we create it too through this innovative initiative of TMMC.

We offer this Directory for connecting with your peers in business, we offer personal help in connecting you to the suppliers and/or customers you need to make your business grow. We offer a wealth of opportunities for you to get well known in the Cambridge business sector, from sitting on one of our important Committees, our Board of Directors, no-cost displays at our monthly Business After Hours, numerous showcase events at the “Gateway”, or volunteering at any one of our fabulous events. Let us show you how to wisely use your membership, and gain an abundance of value for you, your business and our Community.

Enjoy using this great resource, we hope you find it easy to use, effective for your business, and most importantly we hope you use it and your Chamber Membership to make a difference in your business.
